You're Closer Than You Think
The Momentum You Don't See Yet
Most people quit right before it gets good.
Not because they aren't capable or the path isn't right.
But because trust lags behind effort.
You're doing the work. Showing up. Laying foundations.
And yet, it feels like nothing’s moving.
You wonder if you're wasting your time.
You question if anyone’s even paying attention.
You think about scaling back, switching tracks, starting over.
But behind the scenes, things are stacking in your favour:
Silent readers are noticing
Potential clients are watching
Future opportunities are forming
You just can’t see it yet.
The trust you’re building now doesn’t pay off immediately.
It compounds, and often shows up all at once after a long stretch of nothing.
It’s not a sign you're failing. It’s a sign you’re closer than it feels.
A few mindset shifts to anchor you when it gets heavy:
Trust the lag. Success moves slower than effort, then it moves fast. Treat the silence as a part of the process, not a verdict on your potential.
Measure input, not applause. Your focus should be reps, not reactions. Set a minimum action quota each week (e.g. publish 3 posts, send 5 DMs) and track completion, not engagement or responses.
Stay in the game. Most people aren’t failing. They’re quitting too soon. Build small proof points: screenshot positive DMs, save encouraging comments, listen to qualitative feedback—small signs that momentum is quietly building.
Here’s how it played out for me:
When I started writing this newsletter, it took 41 issues before I made a single dollar from it. Forty-one.
Most weeks, I would hear nothing from my readers. Other weeks, I’d get a few compliments, but nothing translated into real business opportunities.
It often felt like all the time and effort were disappearing into thin air.
Then one day, a qualified lead reached out.
They mentioned how much they loved the newsletter and that they'd been reading it for months. Curious, I checked my email analytics. They had opened 97% of my emails.
They’d been there the whole time. Paying attention. Appreciating the work.
When we finally spoke, everything fell into place. We closed the deal on the first call and started working together the next day.
Since then, we’ve accomplished great things together. That one deal alone has generated $15,000 in revenue—and built an excellent case study. It more than covered the time, energy, and effort spent writing those 41 newsletters.
The point is: momentum is often invisible until it isn’t.
If you’re questioning whether it’s working right now...
Chances are, you’re closer than you think.
Until next time, keep creating!
